Like any substance, marijuana can be abused. The most common problem attributed to marijuana is frequent overuse, which can induce lethargic behaviour, but does not cause serious health problems. Marijuana can cause short-term memory loss, but only while under the influence. Marijuana does not impair long-term memory. Marijuana does not lead to harder drugs. Marijuana does not cause brain damage, genetic damage, or damage the immune system. Unlike alcohol, marijuana does not kill brain cells or induce violent behaviour. Continuous long-term smoking of marijuana can cause bronchitis, but the chance of contracting bronchitis from casual marijuana smoking is minuscule. Respiratory health hazards can be totally eliminated by consuming marijuana via non-smoking methods, i.e., ingesting marijuana via baked foods, tincture, or vaporizer.
There is absolutely no scientific or any other evidence that shows Marijuana has ever caused death!!!
If it were legal, there would be less crime!
How about opening with a statement of fact such as:
On November 4, 2008, the American people made history by electing Barack Obama as our next President of the United States. In Michigan, on that same day, Michiganders made history as well by passing Proposal 1, Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, legalizing medical marijuana. On November 5, this writer set a record of his own, fielding 15 calls from patients wanting their first prescription for marijuana. It was going to be a long day.

first sentence: NO ONE IN WORLD HISTORY HAS EVER DIRECTLY DIED FROM MARIJUANA USE.
All of these people are good ways to start off the essay especially the first answer. one thing to do is put a lot of positive facts in the essay but also some negative to show support for both parties.
A fact that i would have on it is an economy booster. It would allow for a whole other market of sales to pop up. Selling medical as a prescription, opening up stores for smoking accessories(bongs), overall it would be a high sale and economy booster which is what we need right now.
