VaderVision - How basic Genetics concepts relate to Cannabis BreedingGenetics? This is a basic look at breeding potential of cannabis. We are going to jump right in to phenotypes and genotypes. So for every characteristic that…

    off loose ends

Man I was laughing pretty good during that white board lesson. Don’t be
afraid to get into genetics. People want to learn, you just have the
challenge of keeping it accessible. Keep it coming man!

  5. NEGreenThumb says:

When you are giving a “strain” particular traits for recessive and
dominant, are those traits taken from a larger scale? For example, if you
have a clone only, is it possible to select what is dominant just from one
pheno? Presuming you do not know the parents…

I kind of think the human desire for mutation coupled with the fact it’s
physically so easy to clone will limit the need for full stability unless
it’s a large scale operation. Large enough so it’s more convenient to just
“drop a seed into the medium” over cloning out xxx-xxxx amount.

Awesome info bro….keep em coming…have never enjoyed being taken to

Damn i gotta lot of work ahead of me great vid

  10. GreenMountainGrow says:

Genetics that have ALREADY had 75% to 85% of the undesirable traits
selectively breed out of the genes and stabilized. NO MORE FEM BREEDING!
Breeders work hard for YEARS to stabilize & enhance characteristics &
traits and one moron feminizing the strain introducing undesirable
characteristics into the breeding pool that will one day have to be
    stabilized.
If a grower cant spot the difference between a penis and a vagina they
don’t belong in the grow room 🙂 my opinion!
    GMG

    Peace

  13. ron strong says:

    awesome video! very informative. thanks!

  14. tom cellic says:

i would swim in the stable genetics but always wade out to unstable for
selection and the shure dam fun of it . like a the ones you know every
witch way for reliability. then there is b for adventure and the unknown .
well that’s my style keep it green!!!

Stabilization is critical for the masses. Very nice.

  21. Jugga Lotus says:

I found this very interesting. A bit hard to follow but i enjoyed it. I
think i would like to see different phenotypes, rather than a stable plant,
if i were to start growing.

  22. Mehd Ickal says:

Now this is some very good information I feel like I just took a college
class 🙂 Thanks for sharing this it helps me a great amount. I hope you
    make more of these

  23. OrganicGrowslife says:

Thanks for the Vid Vader, these are things breeders dnt never disclose to
the un-plugged growers, DBWG has a valid point, & one of the reasons i dnt
    have a problem popping bagseed.

  24. Frosty theBigfoot says:

pull up a seat everyone class is in session Vader style!! Awesome info.
    Thanks Vader

  25. TrichomeJungle says:

Me personally I feel all stable strains have different phenos just the
differences are minimal and in alot of cases not noticable but me being a
personal grower who clones off mothers I like the pheno hunt and the
freedom to choose which attributes I like in a plant from its parents
before I choose to make it a mother.

  26. SDdayze says:

stable genetics make life easy for growers, once you have your room dialed
in and you run a strain a couple times you know exactly what nutes they
like, when they will finish, what your yield will be etc…it makes
detecting problems in your room easier too and for someone who works 45 to
50 hours a week anything I can do to make growing easier is appreciated.

  27. lobsterbushbroo says:

Great vid Vader! More breeding/genetics videos would be great. Thanks for
    sharing your knowledge with us.

  28. T Rivi says:

This is probably one of the best informative videos ive ever seen about
genetics good shit man i could see a 2 hr video of you kicking it and this
one was funny AF! And Medicropper is the truth and he dont even smoke..keep
hitting us with more videos bro

  29. JS Maine says:

You are the man Vader! Great video as usual. I wish I had you for a biology
teacher. I prob would have learned a little more.

  32. AK4ourty7even47 says:

    Lol….good infoßsßßsssssss

  33. dirtybongwater grows says:

new strains are a dime a dozen but make a great strain stable and youll
have a great strain and you will get the same thing every time you plant.
im disabled and dont have any time to pheno hunt. and most dont have the
money to keep buying seeds to find the best pheno. i wish breeders would
take the time to hunt down the best phenos they have and make their strains
stable instead off just keep making strains to look for the next big thing.
hate to say it but thats why i like fem seeds due to you know 98% will all
    look and taste the same

  34. joegrows420 says:

Keep on keeping on, thanks for the education +VaderOG

  35. Captain Ganjah says:

    Thanks man Great vid.

  36. Mystjah says:

    Thanks for the lesson bless

  37. Permanently High says:

Making new crosses is a good thing otherwise the growers would miss out on
some stellar phenos that would not have been found if the unstable hybrid
did not get put out to folks to grow that’s how you find clone only phenos
and so many others that are great hybrids, good show lets get into the more
advanced stuff that doesn’t come out of a book but comes with experience
that’s when you got my attention, redline, peace.

  38. P Bizzle says:

I think that if you could find that 1/16th and stabilize it then you would
have the best of both worlds. I don’t buy all the hype some breeders put on
their seeds. I have always been a pheno hunter. That’s just what I enjoy

  39. 831Dank says:

Very informative and really entertaining, I love it!

  40. peyotewalrus27 says:

Do I have to grow 16 of ur seeds to find that one Alpha male or female then
clone it for production or what? Or is that more of a BigDanGreenThumb
    thing

  41. TheSmoketrixx says:

There’s that knowledge crack I’ve been craving.

  42. bababludrawz says:

Of course I’ll archive for the newbs this entire series, keep em comin

  43. kickingharold1 says:

but i do love me some phenotype selection

  44. VaderOG says:

I had planned on continuing diving into this subject because obviously you
can’t handle genetics in 15 minutes but I did want to see if enough people
were interested in these kinds of concepts being presented in the future.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  45. shift00420 says:

I like stable genetics but I don’t mind different phenos either. I just
spent a whole year working with white fire og. I know that strain inside &
out. Worked 3 different phenos till i found a keeper & wouldn’t you know
it. The longer i kept her the worse she threw naners…… good video vader
    !!

  46. Max Powers says:

I am not experienced enough to answer the question at the end.

  47. Growing With Mr.Tight says:

  48. chuchy1 says:

Damn Vader what a great vid! You took us to class! Thanks for showing some
of these people out hear that ” dope smokers” lol showing that pot smokers
are smart and can put a couple sentences together! You are top five one of
    my favorite growers!

  49. Died Erik says:

inset that the howl fun of breeding buying 10 or 15 packs and crossing the
top dogs and bitches stabilizing the crop and then breeding out your own
varieties by throwing in some top bitches from time to time and stabilizing
again keep it healthy step away from mistakes but always going on planing
for the next year, Great video keep up the Great work ! and keep em coming
    !

  50. Neal Weeks says:

Stability and reliability is what all who grow and want to grow want, its
like every aspect in life as people. This will explain the overwhelming
cloning in Californinia, I could not imagine the work put into some
strains. I have a question how far would you go with a stabilized dominant
BX, in spite of mutations. What is the effect from continuous selfing for
    feminized seeds.
