there is absolutely no reason why it should still be illegal period.
It will become legal when people come to their senses.

It really won’t matter. It will still be illegal under federal law. It will take an act of Congress to force the FDA to change marijuana from a Schedule I drug to a Schedule III drug under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970. Every year this change is put before Congress and every year they shoot it down. All I can say is educate your representatives on why it should be changed. They are too busy to get involved and instead take the word of government paid scientists working for the FBI, ATF, FDA…
More than likely, NEVER. Our justice system is so wasting time on trivial things like marijuana. Busting those using or growing smoke for their own personal use is more than a waste of time. It is a waste of taxpayer’s money, jail space, court time, etc. The DEA is a bullying government department and wasting all of America’s tax money. Drug use will never go away – and – it has been around since ancient times.
Busts and convictions bring Kudos to officials and add feathers to their cap’s. The prisons become so overcrowded with “felons” who have busted for pot, that there becomes no room for the real criminals. The worst offenders in our society are usually set free due to some ridiculous loop hole but the guy who is simply just smoking a joint is locked away for years!
The system will never change. It is people’s misunderstanding of smoke that keeps the system going.
