Because they rather kill than heal.
Why? All in the name of MONEY! The governments ban marijuana( also known as hemp ) because they can make more money from cigarettes. And if you think that the pharmaceutical companies aim to help us with our health, then your belief is wrong. Their interest is only in making more money!

It’s all about the money.
Marijuana contains more tar than what your cigarettes do, therefore, they’re just as likely, if not more likely to cause cancer and various lung problems. That said, it’s all about money. Like you said, marijuana isn’t addictive. I smoke weed around 4-5 times per week and I stopped completely for a week and it was no where near as hard as it was to stop smoking cigarettes that week. Cigarettes are addictive and therefore, they can make more money from them. The only addictive part of marijuana is wanting to feel high, but it’s not a physical addiction.
