I do believe it is legitimate medicine. Do I believe that everyone in California that has a license has a condition that needs it? No, probably not.
Honestly, marijuana is more natural and easy for your body to handle then something like asprin or ibuprofen, and as long as you can handle it (and actually take it for some type of illness, like chronic headaches or nausea) then it can be very beneficial.
I get the worst headaches and have tried everything for them. If I could get a medical marijuana license I would, unfortunately I live in Mormon Capital USA.
My Sweetie is just getting over breast cancer. She got medical pot (recommended by both her primary physician and her oncologist) to help with chemotherapy. I really think it helped her. Both doctors assured us that there’s never been any evidence that pot causes any real harm. No side effects. They would rather she smoke pot than take anti-nausea meds. She had four rounds of chemo and only threw up once. (It’s been almost a year now, it’s taking a while but she’s definitely better all the time).
It’s not hard to get a marijuana card here in California. They have doctors at the pot centers themselves, and you just say “I get headaches sometimes’ or something like that and you get a card. Yes, I do know several people who have them even though nothing’s wrong with them. Just as we all know people who abuse, say, narcotics, but this doesn’t mean they don’t have a legitimate use and we’re glad to have them when we need them. At least pot is not physically addictive.
If we were smart, we’d let California legalize pot in November, as it looks like we will, and then watch the state to see if there’s a huge spike in DUIs, unwed pregnancies, street crime, or whatever. I’m guessing you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference, since most cities and counties, and now even the fed. govt. announced long ago that they wouldn’t waste scarce law-enforcement resources chasing casual pot smokers.

Yes, I believe it relieves symptoms of nausea, pain, anxiety, ptsd, increase appetite, and several other things.
I believe it should be over the counter, but age regulated the way many other over the counter meds are (walmart cards everyone for nyquil, even)
For anyone who thinks its a joke. If I was just a druggie wantin my drugs… I would have stuck with the morphine the doctor was more than happy to provide. Its far more narcotic, doesnt relive pain but makes you not care that you are in pain, its more euphoric. The marijuana is less narcotic, relieves some pain but def does not make me not care that im in pain, and while uplifting does not give that euphoria.
I chose marijuana because it allowed me to have a life. I am not so drugged up that all I can do is sit inside my own euphoric coma on my bed. I can get up, talk, walk, run errands (obviously NOT while using, I support sober driving and designated drivers) cook, clean, have a life. Im not pain free, but it is reduced enough that I am not miserable all day.
And for someone who wants to talk about pilots flying… . I also dont want them drinking the night before, or treating their stuffy nose with half a bottle of nyquil before flying either. Gonna make all those illegal??
