You go right down to the local police station and ask them, They will tell you the best tip is not to do it because it is a class b illegal drug which attracts an unlimited fine and/or a jail sentence of up to 15 years.
The last time I answered a question like this my answer got flagged and I received a violation. Marijuana is a controlled substance in most countries and as such should not be discussed on a family oriented site like yahoo answers.
Make sure your state allows it. Get your medical marijuana user certificate. Know the limit on how much you can grow. Keep it out of sight. Do not engage others to grow it for you. It likes what most plants like — sun, water, fertile soil. See link below for other tips.
