They can actually see it growing outside, it doesn’t matter how hard you try and camouflage it, marijuana give off a distinct infra-red signature. That’s how they catch us here in the U.S. Indoors, if you have grow lights burning, the power company reports the excessive usage to the law. I haven’t been around the business in about 15 years, but back then, all the successful guys I knew that were growing it used grow lights powered by a generator, which was buried under the ground so it didn’t attract attention. Or, they’d just plant patches outdoors in random places and hope for the best.
