is there any reason not to leave a little water in the oil?
Pentane and hexane are very much like butane, but they have slightly higher
boiling points and don’t really need to be stored under so much pressure,
which makes them safer- although they still form potentially explosive
vapor clouds. They take a little longer to evaporate clean, but they will
in time just like butane. You can speed up the final step with a hairdryer.
They will give you oil that looks like cold honey: thick, syrupy,
translucent and golden.
They will also extract at room temperature.
Hexane? Hell no…avoid avoid avoid
Try it with pentane or hexane. You will get pharmaceutical grade oil.
