It’s illegal to smoke marijuana, even medical marijuana, in public.
When medicating the law is specific to where X marks the spot!
Depends on where your standing at the time.
Some Counties in MMJ States have public use allowances / tolerances and some do not tolerate it.
The guidelines are in the State, County, City and township law. In a State with medical marijuana smoking or holding in a National Park, National Forest, etc. would put you on Federal land.
It is summer time so always remember Rangers carry a badge and a sidearm and represent either the State or the Federal government.
In Canada there are no guidelines, so those who have a medical exemption can smoke in public places.
