Medicinal Marijuana
freithink asked:

Do terminal or chronically ill persons get it for free or it is just another business for the laboratories?
Is it possible to grow it yourself instead of paying obscene rip-off prices?

That depends…..how much are you willing to pay?? 😉

This question may need more specifics. What kind of strain, strength, and what your preference is directly correlates to the price.
It can range anywhere from $100 to $600 an OZ, I believe. Anyone from Cali should help you out, but I’m 90% certain a really really really great ounce would be $500.
A sit-down negotiation between caregiver and patient I believe would be in order when being prescribed medicinal marijuana.
And remember, think about underground prices, then remember that medicinal would mean it’s being sold like prescription medicine…so you won’t be getting any breaks, tho obviously you wouldn’t risk going to jail.
If you can buy medicinal marijuana, you and I should become BFFs hah.

it depends on where you are what state then also which part of that state and different places different prices… i heard CO is 35 for 3.5 grams cheap to us Cali folk 3.5g is about 60 average… but are pricing is coming down due to so many new clinics being opened I hear San Fran now has more clinics for weed then starbucks FUCKING COOL

Also You can get it for a cheaper price if your really sick but that’s the prices… street you get 2g for 20$ but the quality could be questionable

No, it is NOT just another business for the laboratories – it is usually grown by state-licensed compassionate growers or cooperatives of MMJ patients. I’d bet that this is the reason some pharmaceutical companies spend millions lobbying against MMJ – who will buy $50 pills, when they can grow their own safe, effective medicine for a few dollars and a little sweat? And, yes, with the proper licenses, you can grow limited amounts for yourself.

Its price? That varies, depending on quality and desired effects. A high-grade indica, which causes drowsiness and is used to stop pain, depression, and sleep disorders, can run $20-40 per gram. A high grade sativa that does not cause so much drowsiness can cost the same.

Prices also vary among clinics, and some clinics give indigent patients low- or medium-grade cannabis for free. Those growing in coop’s generally share the harvest among themselves, depending on members’ average needs.

Most of the marijuana in the US was not grown in “laboratories” not is it distributed in them. Most of the marijuana is grown by patients, or caregivers who have legal licenses to grow. (Keep in mind that ANY form of marijuana is 100% Illegal on a federal level- and that the sentence for any grow with over 100 plants has a MINIMUM federal sentence of several years in prison.)

Yes, you can become licensed to grow in yourself if your state has medical marijuana laws that included either caregiver laws or grow laws. not all states that have mmj laws allow you to grow.

Many collectives in California do provide medication for terminal or low-income patients at a reduced cost, or sometimes for free. There is a program I know that started in Oakland area that provides medication to terminal patients 100% free for the rest of your life. But it’s a small program and spots open up only when someone dies. So it’s a bit grim.
